Merton Council is undertaking a review of public toilet provision across the borough.
We've made a submission that specifically focuses on Mitcham Village.
Public toilets were on the agenda for Mitcham Village way back in 2012/13 when the Rediscover Mitcham programme accepted the public desire to have them, costed them at £50,000, then decided that provision was too expensive.
Our submission makes it clear that public toilets are a necessity for Mitcham Village. Their absence is a deterrent for many people who may instead go to other places to shop and socialise knowing that there are toilets available.
